It's fun to watch your children become excited about going to school and all the positive changes that brings. I've been surprised at how well Reilly has adapted to school. I'm surprised because I don't think of him as someone that enjoys much structure. In many ways it is difficult for him, but he is responding in so many wonderful ways.
A few days ago, when he came in from playing in the back yard, he ran straight into the bathroom and put his hands under the faucet. He's never done that before. In fact, it is a major struggle to wash his hands. He doesn't like to have his hands touched. I attribute that to school!
He's moving along so well in his program right now. He's still working on sitting in his chair with his hands and feet down. You'd be surprised at how many steps that task takes. I've also noticed he is trying to "talk" more. Nothing I can understand, but babbling is the first step. Sometimes I wonder if he will ever talk, and then I try to push that thought out as quick as it came in.
I'm adjusting to life better as well. I was very lonely at first, being home by myself for all that time. I still feel it is a lonely thing, but I'm doing some fun things to help pass the time. For instance, I took a toothbrush to my fridge the other day. Cleaned the entire thing! My home has never been cleaner. :-)
