This past weekend we loaded up the truck and drove to Delta, Colorado for a family function. Our cousin, Toni Rae, was turning 15 and having a big Quinceanera. Our boys travel very well and the five hour trip was rather easy. We stayed in a hotel this trip due to the party that was happening and our boys need for quiet.
They, like all children, love to stay in hotels. The first thing I do when we arrive, besides hope and prayer it has been well cleaned, is unplug the telephone. Braedon's first stop is the phone, followed closely by Reilly.
We had a terrific weekend. Saturday we attended the mass. Reilly slammed his head into the pew and Dean took him to the back for remainder of the service. Braedon sat with me and other family members. I think Braedon liked to stand up during the service. He doesn't get to do that at his Church. The luncheon was next followed by a 3 hour nap for Reilly and Daddy. Braedon and I watched TV.
The dance party was that night. I was worried about Braedon and the loud music. He doesn't like loud music and generally covers his ears and hides. He did very well. There were some stairs that he could climb up and hide a little from all the stuff going on below. I think that helped keep him in the okay.
Reilly, on the other hand, had found his calling in life. The colorful lights from the DJ were exciting as well as the loud music. He danced and ran around. During Baby Got Back, he even slapped a woman on the rump. Dean put him in a time out for a bit after that. You need to act like a gentleman on the dance floor.
After several hours we returned to the hotel were the boys fell asleep pretty fast. All in all, it was a great weekend to spend with family. The boys had fun and so did Mom and Dad. Now we are recovering from colds and planning our next adventure this week. We are planning on going up to Washington to see my family for Spring Break. Woohoo!
